These last few days have been seen me morph into some kinda prolific artist.Weird…
The final “Puzzle Girl’
The oldest song in my grand scheme for the EP is now done (mostly), and I’ve just uploaded the new version, complete with new B section, more guitar layers and quiet harmonies over the solo. Had mucho fun with this one.
Edit: The Soundclick widget wasn’t liking the idea of embedding into my site properly, so to listen to the new tune visit the link below.
Decisions
Decisions are, quite simply, scary things. First there’s the uncertainty that comes with making a potentially life changing changes to your life, there’s the breaking out of your comfort zone to contend with, and then the wondering if you’ve made the right decision, even after the ball has started rolling in the direction you’ve chosen to push it.
My big decision as of yesterday has been whether to move back up north and say good bye to Dunedin for good, not helped by the way I become attached to places. I ascribe a large portion of my identity to where I am from. Perhaps it comes from being a New Zealander, I think as a nation we are very attached to our homes. We are proud.
And Dunedin, what a magical place it is. Five years ago I never would have thought that this place would inspire so much in me, give me a second home and a second family, teach me how to live off $160 a week and essentially shape who I am. But then, thats another thing about decisions: there’s no way of telling how they’ll snowball. How is a person supposed to predict whether going to this place or that one will change their life? Will they find love in one, debt in another?
I guess life is a game of chance and risk. You can ponder the risks in any given situation, but chance can always kick you in the pants, or kiss you on the cheek.
Oh, and I’ve decided to leave. What will Welly bring? Rolling that dice.

SRV
August 27th was the 20th Anniversary of the death of Stevie Ray Vaughan. I dare you to find a bad note in this live performance.
This man is untouchable.
The Satch Pose
It has certainly been a while, but here it is: The Satch Pose.
Critique on technique and accuracy are welcome.

Sickness
I had plans to finish the vocal tracks on the new EP recording of ‘Puzzle Girl’ today. I was going to post the song on here much like I did with ‘I dont know’ recently. It was gonna help me feel like I had achieved something with my Sunday, I’d then not feel so bad about sitting round for most the day.
Then I woke up with a headache and a dry throat like the mid-day Sahara sun. Plans change. Instead I’ll probably spend the day with as Niko Bellic. I reckon illness and video games go hand in hand.
I hope you are feeling great today, and if not, then you have a PS3 to keep ya’ll company.

Yus!
Just wanted to throw a shout out to everyone who’s visited the site over the past month. For the first time ever I’ve had over 200 unique visits, which is pretty cool. Hopefully the trend will continue and I can get my music out there to more ears, for more people to hopefully enjoy. That’s what its all about.
